Is Von Duprin worth specifying?
It depends on the door and what it is protecting, and we would rather give you a straight answer than a sales one. It is well-regarded commercial hardware and widely specified across the GTA. What matters more than the badge is that the grade matches the actual cycle count of the door — a grade-2 unit on a high-traffic entrance fails early regardless of who made it.
Can Von Duprin locks be rekeyed?
In nearly all cases, yes — rekeying re-pins the cylinder you already own and is far cheaper than replacement. If the locks share a keyway they can also be keyed alike so one key covers several doors.
